I love a steamy sexy book. But do you know what I love even more? A book with lots of heart! I especially love stories that incorporate a great family dynamic. This book had it all. I was a little worried when I read the synopsis, which mentioned all of the brothers in the family wanted to be with the heroine and that there was some double-teaming going on. I have nothing against group sex, but not when it comes to an innocent girl wanting her crush to notice her. That just felt wrong. Fortunately, the double-teaming had nothing to do with the main characters. I didn’t feel like the secondary romance was necessary, but that menage scene was pretty hot.
On to the main event! This is the story of Jaxi and Blake, two neighbors who pretty much grew up together. Well, actually Jaxi was the one growing up. Blake was seventeen and Jaxi was 7 when they first met. Blake had always been the big brother figure to little Jaxi, but all that changed when she turned sixteen. Suddenly Blake’s feelings weren’t so brotherly, so he avoided her. She was way too young for him! But Jaxi’s dream had always been to be a rancher’s wife and Blake was the rancher she wanted.
Now that Jaxi is 21 she plans to make Blake want her. All she has to do is convince him that their ten year age difference doesn’t matter. Blake is afraid he will lose Jaxi, even as a friend, if they get involved. But he needs to get past his fear unless he wants to see one of his younger brothers steal her away for good.
Along with this delicious and steamy love story we get to meet Blake’s five brothers. Each one has a story to tell and I look forward to reading them all.
As much as I loved the romance and the sex scenes, my favorite part was the bonus chapter that showed how they first met, when Blake thought Jaxi was a little boy. That was priceless!
